Providing Software Solutions around the Globe

Intact’s software products enable the work of international organizations such as Naturland and the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC), large corporations such as Coop, and even the US Department of Agriculture. Therefore it is probably known to very few people that the company headquarters are located in the idyllic town of Lebring in Styria. In fact, Intact is the world’s leading software company for audits, assessments and certifications, and has been based there since 2001.

Digitization State Secretary Florian Tursky, who visited last Friday, had the innovative company premises and the work of Intact presented to him: “I am pleased that the global pioneer in a billion-dollar growth market comes from Austria and has always remained true to its roots in Lebring despite numerous international customers. This way, valuable know-how remains in Austria and we strengthen the business location in the long term. Intact demonstrates what potential Austria has in terms of digitization and that we are already further along than many people may realize.”

Systems for better quality and more consumer protection

Since terms such as audits, assessments and certifications are not familiar to everyone, CEO Thomas Lorber explains in more detail what the daily work at Intact GmbH is all about: “Among other things, we develop software that makes it possible to examine the compliance of processes, products and systems according to specifications and required guidelines. In this way we ensure that legally required quality standards in the food industry are met and that customers are not deceived.”

Over the years, Intact GmbH has been able to convince leading organizations and corporations in a wide variety of sectors of its work, such as the space and aviation organization International Aerospace Quality Group, the organic growers’ association Demeter, and the largest accreditation body in the Western Hemisphere, the ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB).

Significant increase in revenue by 2025

The company’s figures also illustrate Intact GmbH’s promising future: turnover in 2021 was 8 million euros. In 2022 a significant increase is expected, and by 2025 more than twice that amount is anticipated. In addition to its headquarters in Lebring, Intact also operates five international offices in the USA, Great Britain, Australia, Germany and Switzerland.

Internationally, the company currently employs more than 80 people and various external partners. In the future, the company wants to maintain its leadership in the areas of agriculture, bio, food safety, management and certification and develop further promising markets in Europe, North America, the Western Pacific regions and South America.
