EarthCheck is the world’s leading scientific benchmarking, certification, and advisory group for sustainable travel and tourism. Established in 1987 and headquartered in Brisbane, Australia, EarthCheck was developed by the Australian Governments Cooperative Research Centre for Sustainable Tourism over a ten-year period to help destinations and tourism operators across the tourism supply chain to embed sustainable practices into their operations.
Over the past three decades, EarthCheck has grown to support clients in more than 70 countries, working with iconic destinations and global brands to improve environmental and social performance. EarthCheck has long been recognized for its rigorous standards and industry leadership, but as sustainability gained mainstream momentum, the organization saw an opportunity to modernize how it delivered its certification services.
