Applied AI/ML Engineer (m/f/x)

Hi, I’m Fabian. As the CPO at Intact, I’d be delighted to hear about your interest in joining our team.
Intact, the world’s leading software solutions provider for the Testing, Inspection and Certification (TIC) industry, is looking for an Applied AI/ML Engineer to help build the intelligence layer for the future of global assurance.
For more than 25 years, our software has helped certification bodies, accreditation bodies and scheme owners digitize complex assurance processes. But we believe the next chapter will look fundamentally different. Our ambition is not to add AI features to an existing product. We are building the platform that will connect operational workflows, ecosystem collaboration, proprietary data and artificial intelligence to help customers make better decisions.
As an Applied AI/ML Engineer, you’ll work directly inside our product squads, alongside Product Managers, Product Designers and Software Engineers. Your job won’t be to experiment with AI in isolation. You’ll identify where intelligence can fundamentally improve a workflow, prototype solutions quickly, and turn the ones that work into reliable production capabilities used by customers around the world.

This is one of the largest transformations in our company’s history. You’ll join us early enough to shape not only what we build, but how we build AI-powered products.
Sounds exciting? We’d love to hear from you.

ARE YOU READY?

  • Build AI-powered capabilities directly into our core product and customer workflows
  • Work as part of cross-functional product squads from discovery through production
  • Turn complex customer problems into practical applications of AI and machine learning
  • Prototype rapidly, validate with real users and productionize what creates measurable value
  • Build with LLMs, RAG, agents, machine learning and other emerging AI technologies where they genuinely improve the product
  • Leverage proprietary ecosystem data to create intelligent recommendations, predictions and decision support
  • Design reliable, observable and scalable AI systems rather than isolated demos
  • Help create reusable AI capabilities that can be leveraged across multiple product domains
  • Shape how Applied AI becomes a core part of Intact’s product engineering discipline

ARE YOU THE ONE?

  • Degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 3+ years of experience building machine learning, AI or data-driven software products
  • Strong software engineering skills, ideally in Python and modern cloud environments
  • Hands-on experience taking AI/ML capabilities from prototype to production
  • Experience with modern LLM application development, including areas such as RAG, tool use, agents, evaluation and structured outputs
  • Strong understanding of ML fundamentals and when traditional machine learning is preferable to generative AI
  • Experience integrating models and AI services into real software products through APIs and production infrastructure
  • Comfortable working with imperfect data, ambiguous problems and rapidly evolving technology
  • Product-minded engineer who starts with the problem, not the model
  • Pragmatic builder who enjoys turning ideas into working software quickly
  • Curious about new AI capabilities without chasing technology for its own sake
  • Comfortable working directly with Product, Design, Engineering and customers
  • Strong communicator who can explain technical trade-offs clearly
  • High ownership, low ego and comfortable making decisions under uncertainty
  • Fluent in English, German and additional languages are a plus
  • Nice to have: Experience with with vector databases, embeddings, knowledge graphs or semantic; with AI evaluation, observability, guardrails and production monitoring; recommendation, prediction, classification or decision-support systems; with Azure and modern data platforms; and in B2B SaaS or highly regulated industries

WHY US?

  • International environment with purpose. We help safeguard quality, safety and sustainability worldwide
  • A rare opportunity to build AI into the foundation of a new product platform rather than bolt it onto an established one
  • Work directly inside empowered product squads where AI engineers influence both the problem and the solution
  • Access to unique proprietary data from one of the world’s most important trust industries
  • The opportunity to turn emerging AI technology into products with real-world impact
  • Close collaboration with Product, Engineering and our Data & AI organization
  • Flexible work models with a 100% remote work option
  • Lebring office perks: food vouchers, free parking, easy access to public transport
  • Supportive team with open dialogue across all levels
  • Great food options with many nearby partner restaurants
  • Vibrant company culture with regular team events
  • Continuous learning and personal development. We grow when you grow.
  • Fair compensation: starting at € 64,554 gross/year (fulltime), with significant overpayment depending on seniority and experience, up to € 85,000 gross/year.
  • Start: ASAP

We are looking forward to your application

Talent Acquisition Partner (m/f/x)

Hi, my name is Sabrina. As HR Manager at Intact, I would be delighted to hear about your interest in joining our team. Intact is the world’s leading software solutions provider for the Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) industry. Our software helps ensure that management systems are certified to standard, organic food is truly organic, fisheries are sustainable, and buildings don’t go up in flames.

After 25 years, we are now in the most fundamental transformation in our company’s history, and it depends on capabilities we do not yet have in-house. That makes talent acquisition one of the few things our strategy genuinely stands or falls on. This is not a role that processes requisitions. You will own how Intact identifies, attracts and wins the people who will build its next chapter, and you will shape how we hire while we are still defining what great looks like. You specifically understand what exceptional Product, Engineering, Data & AI talent looks like, you know where to find it internationally, and you can challenge us when our role profile, compensation, location or hiring process will not attract the people our transformation requires.

Our international presence means you’ll work with colleagues and candidates all over the world as part of a global organization. Sounds like your kind of challenge? Then send us your application and become our next Talent Acquisition Partner.

ARE YOU READY?

  • Shape and own Intact’s international talent acquisition strategy for the capabilities our transformation depends on
  • Derive concrete role profiles, scorecards and assessment processes from our target operating model, together with our functional leaders
  • Run international active sourcing for specialist and expert positions, across borders
  • Own and continuously improve the full recruitment lifecycle across your functions and regions
  • Partner with hiring managers as both coach and challenger
  • Map global talent pools, track labor market trends and compensation benchmarks, and find where our best candidates actually are
  • Turn talent intelligence into organizational input
  • Explore and develop innovative sourcing channels beyond traditional platforms
  • Define and track the metrics that matter, from quality of hire to time-to-productivity
  • Use AI deliberately across sourcing, talent mapping and candidate engagement
  • Build employer branding that matches the experience people actually have once they join

ARE YOU THE ONE?

  • Completed degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Organizational Development, a related field, or a comparable practical background
  • 5+ years in Talent Acquisition, with a proven track record of hiring exceptional Product, Engineering, Data & AI talent (other functions too)
  • Deep understanding of modern Product & Technology organizations and roles: you know what distinguishes a strong Product Manager, Product Designer, Product Engineer, Engineering Leader, Data Engineer or Applied AI/ML profile, and how to recognize seniority and quality
  • Experience in competitive international talent markets, not primarily local ones, and the ability to win strong candidates for a company of our size
  • The ability to build new capabilities rather than fill vacancies: translating target role profiles into scorecards and assessment processes together with functional leaders
  • Evidence-based assessment of craft excellence: structured interviews, work samples and clear assessment criteria
  • Strong interest in leveraging AI to improve talent acquisition processes, sourcing strategies, talent mapping, and candidate engagement
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including the confidence to challenge senior stakeholders and to move fast once the evidence is there
  • Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken

WHY US?

  • A rare mandate: build the hiring capability of a 25-year-old company during the biggest transformation in its history
  • Direct exposure to executive leadership and workforce planning, not just requisition intake
  • International environment with purpose—we help safeguard quality, safety, and sustainability worldwide
  • Flexible work models with 100% remote work option
  • Lebring office perks: food vouchers, free parking, easy access to public transport
  • We do not just enable personal development, we encourage it – your growth is our gain
  • Fair compensation: from € 64,554 gross/year (full-time), with overpayment up to € 80,000 depending on seniority and experience
  • Start: asap
