MSC’s Initial Challenge

The integrity of its standards and the traceability of all MSC-certified products are paramount to the MSC, so that consumers can be sure that the fish they’re buying has been caught using sustainable methods. The MSC values transparent management of all certificate holders and their suppliers to ensure this transparency. They set out to simplify the cooperation with certification and assessment bodies. The MSC wanted to make certification data and information on all MSC-certified companies readily available on a public web platform to provide maximum transparency for consumers.

The Solution

Intact implemented a customized Intact Platform solution to meet all of the MSC’s requirements, including:

• An online portal for decentralized data administration by certification and assessment bodies
• Clearly mapped supply chains with a quick and easy overview of certificate holders and licensees, as well as their suppliers
• A public web platform that gives suppliers and consumers access to certificates and current certification data
